Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! And, for the first time in 4 years, I'm home! Which means my days of making Thanksgiving dinner are over-for awhile, at least (I just get to choose between a minimum of 4 different places to go---we're going to Michael's stepmom's family and then his mom's family later on. Then on Sunday is my mom's family.) Instead, this year I've been tasked with making cookies. Apparently my cookie reputation precedes me. So-I'll be making cookies. But maybe you're making some of the actual Thanksgiving things? And perhaps you're still looking for inspiration? Lucky for you, I have rounded up my favorites--and included some awesome recipes for you to use up any leftovers you end up with! Hooray!
And if you're reeeally looking for even more Thanksgiving options, check out this post from last year.
Parmesan Gougeres-
These may be a nontraditional bread choice but they are simple to make and absolutely delicious. Crisp on the outside and light and airy on the inside, you and your guests would love these!
No Knead Dinner Rolls-
My oldest roll recipe, they require no kneading and are so fluffy! Plus...cloverleaf rolls are fun to pull apart.
Cheddar Biscuits-
These are the quickest and easiest option here and they are SUPER delicious--meant to be a copy cat of Red Lobster's rolls I dare you to find one person who doesn't drool over these biscuits.
Fluffy, Buttery, Rolls (Texas Roadhouse Copy Cat)-
I saved the best for last-these are my FAVORITE rolls. They're so fluffy and buttery and have a wonderful sweetness to them. I would love some right now!
Brown Butter Mashed Potatoes-
This is a classic mashed potato recipe with just a slight extra oomph added by browned butter. Love em!
Baked Cheddar and Scallion Mashed Potatoes-
A perfect make-ahead recipe for Thanksgiving! Just assemble this recipe and then bake when ready-the cheese and scallions add the perfect amount of flavor to keep you coming back for seconds and thirds!
Cheesy Chive Mashed Potatoes-
Creamy and flavorful, you can easily customize this recipe to your own preferences!
Individual Baked Mashed Potatoes-
Tired of people fighting over the potatoes? Give everyone their own special ramekin of potatoes (and this is another great recipe that you can make ahead of time and bake when needed!)
Pumpkin Pie with Whole Wheat Crust and Cinnamon Caramel Whipped Cream-
For when you need to amp up your classic pumpkin pie.
Mini Apple Pies-
Adorable, portable, individually sized little apple pies that you bake in a muffin tin are still one of Michael's faves!
Vanilla & Honey Shortbread Pie-
Comforting and delicious-this is a really fun and unique option to share with your friends/family!
Peanut Butter Caramel Pie-
Gooey and rich....yeah. Yum.
Mashed Potato, Cheddar, and Scallion Waffles-
A deeeelicious way to use up leftover mashed potatoes--making crisp and perfectly savory "waffles"!
Mashed Potato Soup-
Mmmm this soup is so comforting and perfect for chilly weather-and it can use up any leftover mashed potatoes you have hanging around!
Mashed Potato Pizza-
Another creative use for those leftover potatoes-put them on a pizza!
Turkey Spinach Provolone Pastry-
I'm still obsessed with these pastries--you can use them for your leftover turkey and throw in whatever other ingredients suit your fancy!
Creamy Chicken on Biscuits-
This is one of my go-to easy recipes and you can very easily use leftover shredded turkey instead of the chicken (and throw in any leftover veggies you may want).
Chicken Noodle Casserole {from scratch}-
Once again, a simple and delicious dinner that you can sub shredded turkey in for the chicken.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!
The first time I ever made Thanksgiving dinner...I'll probably be considerably grayer and with more wrinkles before I get to do that again :P
