I got something very exciting in the mail a couple days ago:
I won the Savory Sweet Life cookbook from a giveaway on Two Peas and Their Pod (1 of my favorite blogs)! I am so psyched and cannot wait to dive into this (Nutella Lava Cakes, anyone?)!
My cookbook collection is beginning to expand--I need to find some more space in this little NY apartment of mine :P
Anyway! What's going on this week? Well, I reveled in the bliss of having a computer. On the blog we had a guest post and (are still having) a giveaway-and of course today is National Creme Brulee Day! On the real life front, I had a successful meeting with an agent, filmed a little something for my web series, have an audition this afternoon. and otherwise pretty much just sat around at home-cooking/baking and washing dishes (we have so much food right now it's crazy). Michael and I are planning to go celebrate our (much belated) 3 year anniversary tomorrow with a movie and some food, which should be fun :). On a side note: super cute story. The other day Michael was talking to me on his walk back to our apartment after stopping at CVS for a birthday card. When he gets to our place he tells me he left his keys in the apartment. I was concerned about the keys-couldn't see them, but he insisted he'd find them later, it was fine, just please come down and let him in. So I did. And when I open the door I see him standing there with a smile and a single red rose (my favorite), and he says "I didn't forget my keys." He won some major boyfriend points. I got all "googly eyed" at him then, or so he said. I've got a good one :).
In blogging news-FoodBuzz is changing over to The Daily Buzz. This affects me in that there will no longer be the ability to have "friends" and have an inbox/messaging. This is one of the major ways I keep up with other blogs, so now I have been in the process of setting up my Google Reader with pretty much everyone. Change is always annoying *sigh*, but on the bright side---I really enjoy Google Reader.
Another week another award! Thanks so much to the very very sweet Heidi of Young Grasshopper!

Recipes from the blog that I made this week
Recent links bookmarked (visit my Pinterest for more)
Peanut Butter Crunch Eclair Bars (cookies and cups)
These are no-bake, which is obviously a great idea during this hot summer! And they're a layer of PB/Frosted Flakes, a layer of vanilla pudding, and a layer of chocolate. MMM!
Yoder's Peanut Butter Pie (Foodista)
I saw a feature on Man Vs. Food about desserts, and apparently an Amish-style restaurant named "Yoder's" has the best peanut butter pie ever. It looked amazingggg! So I found this recipe and have already made it-I'll share it with you guys eventually :D.

DIY Graham Crackers (Annie's Eats)
I really need to make these ASAP. Homemade graham crackers? YES PLEASE!
Homemade Sugar Cones (Annie's Eats)
As much stuff I can make from scratch, the better!
Honey Lemonade (Dulce Delicious)
Fresh lemonade sweetened only with honey! Such a great, healthier (and super easy) lemonade recipe-I can't wait to try it.
Movies/TV Talk
Michael and I are going to see The Dark Knight Rises tomorrow. To be honest, I'm pretty much going because he wants to. I've never seen Batman Begins. The only reason I saw The Dark Knight was because of Heath Ledger and, honestly, he was pretty much the only thing I liked about that movie. Don't get me wrong-I love Batman. And I can even recognize these are probably the best Batman movies to have been made but still they are #1-not good enough and #2-too action-y. That is not my favorite genre by any means. But hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised. I'm sure I won't mind it, I just don't know if I'll really like it either, you know?
In other news Michael and I have started watching Flight of the Concords via HBOGO--we love their music and it's pretty funny to actually see their show-especially knowing Bret, in real life, just won an Oscar (for The Muppets), which is just awesome.
What are you guys watching these days?
