Hello Cooking actress readers!! I’m Zainab from Blahnik Baker and I am so excited to be here again today sharing a recipe with you. When Kayle asked us to help with the blog as she prepares for her upcoming nuptials, I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to celebrate her and Michael’s wedding. Nothing says celebration like a good ole cocktail…. a refreshing, summer berry cocktail to be exact. That’s why I am bringing her and you this Blackberry Lavender Cocktail. Let’s toast the soon-to-be newly weds :)
I have a weak spot for fruity drinks and love making them at home. This blackberry lavender cocktail embraces everything good about Spring…and the start of summer. A sweet blackberry mojito is muddled with a floral lavender simple syrup to give you a refreshing mocktail but of course you need to add the alcohol to make it a real party. So feel free to top off with tequila, rum or vodka. Make it in a large pitcher for any showers, parties or BBQs you are hosting; or just enjoy a glass or two with your boo at home.
Kayle, I am so happy for you and Michael! You two are the loveliest couple and I wish you a wonderful, beautiful wedding day!! It will be magical :) I hope that your marriage is filled with nothing but happiness, kindness and love for each other.
Blackberry Lavender Cocktail
Author: Blahnik Baker
- 1/3 cup lavender simple syrup (recipe below)
- 10-12 fresh blackberries
- 6-8 fresh mint leaves
- juice from 1 lime
- ¼ cup tequila or vodka (or more to taste) (optional)
- ice cubes
- Sparkling water
- Garnish: fresh blackberries, mint leaves, lime wedges
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup granulated water
- 1 tablespoon dried lavender
- To make the simple syrup:Add all the ingredients to a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once sugar melts reduce the heat to medium and let syrup cook until slightly reduced. Remove from heat, strain to remove lavender and let cool.
- To prepare cocktails:Divide the simple syrup, blackberries, mint leaves and juice of lime between two glasses. Muddle the ingredients together to release the juices of the blackberries and mint. Add in tequila if using. Add 3-4 ice cubes to each glass and top with sparkling water/club soda. Mix well and enjoy. Add more simple syrup to taste.
