We got impatient, however. They smelled so good as they baked. The recipe said to let them cool 2-3 hours! But...they looked so beautiful. And marshmallows are best when they're warm....so....Josh grabbed a spoon...
and became a rebel.
I followed.
Then Angela gave in to our bad influence.
We all burnt our mouths.
Angela shows her beautiful, perfect bite of brownie.
The guy in the fuzzy hat? That's my brother.
Yes ladies, he's single :)
Mmmmm....(and yes, I will wear my apron whenever possible. Especially since I got 2 more for Christmas. SO MANY APRONS!)
Look. At. That. Pan. of. GOOEY. YUMMY. S'MORES BROWNIE. GOOOOOODNESSS.
We shared these with friends and loved ones, and both pans were demolished before I returned to New York. Josh and I were majorly addicted. It was a fun baking day with my brudder and Angela, and I'm so happy that we got to have such a great day, with such delicious results. :)
S'mores Brownies
From How Sweet It Is
Ingredients:
- 1 box brownie mix (or your favorite homemade recipe-I like using this recipe for cocoa brownies)
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs (I recommend using a food processor to make these)
- 1 1/2 sticks butter
- approx.16 marshmallows (regular size)--or however many it takes to cover the top
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees (unless your box brownie mix calls for a different temperature, then use that)
- In a 9x9 pan (or...if you're me and have to work with what your mother has, you use an 11 x 7), melt butter. Add graham cracker crumbs and mix until fully moistened and form into crust.
- Mix up brownie batter according to instructions. Pour over graham cracker crust.
- Bake for recommended amount of time. Test with a toothpick--brownies may need an additional 15-20 minutes (because of graham cracker crust).
- When the brownies are fully baked, place marshmallows on top. Set under broiler for a couple minutes, or in preheated oven for another 10 minutes. KEEP A CLOSE EYE-make sure the marshmallows don't burn!
- Let cool complete (2-3 hours)....(or break the rules like me. I won't tell.)
Nothing says Christmas like S'mores Brownies.
