Wedding Reception 06.20.15

Our favors were bookmarks with the lyrics to our song (the theme from The Princess Bride) "Storybook Love" on the back.
You remember our photo guest book, right?
We had a table to memorialize any  close family who had passed (my grandpa, my aunt, Michael's cousin, some of his grandparents, and his aunt and uncle).

...red roses are my favorite flower. A bit obvious, no? :P
I'm kind of obsessed with how gorgeous our reception was.
and how PERFECT our cake turned out! (Flavors, for the record, were white cake with vanilla custard filling, white cake with strawberry filling, and chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling-all topped with the most fantastic buttercream.)
Michael's uncle also made us a little clay likeness of us posed like Buttercup and Westley that was on the cake table.
SO MANY COOKIES.

Italian cookie table #forthewin
Pretty pretty head table!
Each table had a movie with its table #, including ours <3

Michael's intro speech (btw the bridal party totally entered to "Carry on My Wayward Son" because we're the coolest.)
Alex's adorable, perfect, Disney quote-filled maid of honor speech! (This is probably the moment where she remembered first meeting Michael and how he fell over in his reenactment of a sword fight).
Laughing at David's awesome LoTR and superhero filled best man speech.

Michael knew how much I did NOT want him to get cake on my face...
...and he didn't. But he did put a little on his own nose. Weirdo. :P

First dance to "Storybook Love".

We had a "family dance"-everyone dances and we started with me and my dad...

...and Michael with his mom.
And then we switched to Michael and his stepmom, Jeanne.
And I danced with Michael's dad.
We ended the "family dance" with me dancing with my brother.
And Michael boogied with my mom.
The bouquet toss was a little crazy, but ended with my bridesmaid Angela the victor.
The garter removal was to "You've Got the Touch" (from the Transformers animated movie) and was pretty hilarious, as you can see.
And the garter toss was set to the epic Mulan song "I'll Make a Man Out of You" and my brother took the honor this time.
The other notable event from the reception--the Croffords get pretty intense about "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" and do a big thing at every family. Ours was no different.
Except there were props.

So there you have it. Everyone danced until the end and it was pretty much awesome.

Even with the things that went wrong on our wedding day...it was still pretty perfect.

Thanks for reading and reminiscing with me! <3
