Honeymoon Recap {at Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun in Riviera Maya}

Some photos from paradise...
Michael and I spent 7 nights at the all-inclusive, adults-only, Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. It was a small, mostly calm (but with plenty of activities and events) place and 100% perfect for what we wanted for our honeymoon! The staff were all exceptionally helpful and nice and...um...unlimited food guys. We ate a lot. And relaxed. And had fun.

Dessert from our 1st lunch--at Seaside Grill. This is "mille feuille".

We said good morning to our little turtle friends every day--they lived in this big pool/waterfall area by the main doors.

Room service breakfast :)

Lunch at The Cactus Club (shrimp tempura tacos for Michael, grilled cheese for m)

A collage of (almost) all the drinks Michael enjoyed on our trip (includes coronas, an espresso, a blue lagoon, a tequila sunrise, a strawberry daiquiri, and many miami vices, mango tangos, margaritas, and strawberry margaritas)

A little room service snack (caramel flan and hot chocolate)

Dinner and dessert at the fancy Italian restaurant on the resort-Portofino (black truffle pappardelle, shrimp and scallop risotto, apple tart, ricotta cheesecake)

Romantic room service breakfast-french toast, fruit, mimosas, muffins, cinnamon rolls, croissants with turkey and cheese....oh those croissants still haunt me)

Riviera Restaurant lunch buffet--lots of food

Dinner and dessert at the seafood restaurant Oceana. Shrimp cocktail, beef steak (with crab stuff on top that I scraped off because I don't like seafood), marlin steak, "chocolate parfait" (like a torte and totally my fave), raspberry mille feuille with a crispy caramel garnish

A rock show that they had while we were there! So cool-they played a lot of great songs, mostly classic rock

Riviera Restaurant breakfast buffet-to die for! I put cinnamon-sugar and caramel on my waffle, which was a tasty decision

Hello Mr. Iguana

Lunch at the grill by the pool (the burger) and The Cactus Club (shrimp ceviche, chicken tacos, and Margherita pizza)

Dinner and dessert at Seaside Grill-NY strip steak and white and chocolate mousse for me, shrimp and steak kebabs and fruit tart for Michael

Room service breakfast before our big excursion to Tulum Akumal!

The ancient Mayan city of Tulum-we got to see all the awesome ruins!

We then snorkeled with sea turtles at Akumal(all the photos are on a disposable camera that is getting developed :P)
Buffet lunch while out on our excursion

Another Portofino dinner-Pesto Linguine with Smoked Duck Breast, Shrimp and Lobster Agnolotti, and Tiramisu for Michael

A super romantic dessert at Oceana at a secluded table on a balcony overlooking the pool and resort

Breakfast buffet at Riviera Restaurant (peanut butter and nutella crepes with bacon and cinn-sugar/caramel waffles for me and many many things for Michael)

We met Eros, the bestest dolphin in the world

THE BEST TIME.

Room service dinner and dessert-chicken tortilla soup, burger, club sandwich (oh I loved the club sammies), chicken taquitos, chocolate cake, cheesecake

Riviera Restaurant buffet on our last day--I made turtle waffles with caramel, nutella, and pecans

Beach <3

Lunch at Seaside Grill-capri nachos, parmesan chicken sandwich, clams rockefeller, mille feuille

Our last dinner at Portofino (beautiful onion rolls that I loved, tomato and basil fettuccine, shrimp and zucchini risotto) and dessert at Oceana (they had a long wait but when they heard we were leaving they brought us out my fave dessert to eat right there!)

One last breakfast at Riviera Restaurant before leaving

Bye Mexico, I hope to see you again! <3

Seriously...the best week of my life. Nothing to do but spend time with my favorite person, relax, eat, and have fun!
